故 일우 조양호 회장은 일생을 하늘길을 넓히는 데 헌신하면서
사랑했던 하늘과 세상의 아름다움을 사진작품 속에 담아
남겼습니다.
이번 전시를 통해 한 자리에 모인 사진작품들과 유품들을
함께 감상하면서
고인의 따뜻한 시선과 발자취를 살피고, 추모하는 시간을
가지고자 합니다.
The
late Chairman Ilwoo Yang Ho Cho’s lifelong devotion to aviation
leaves behind a
collection of photos that captures the splendor of the skies and the world as
he saw them through his camera lens.

collection at this special exhibition.
'길'은 인간의 발자국으로부터 시작됐습니다.
'길'은 인류 문명이 교류하는 창이자, 하나의 도시 더 나아가 하나의 국가가 성장하는 여정의 동반자이기도
합니다.
조양호 선대회장님의 사진 작품에는 항공기에서 바라보는 시선이 담긴 '길'이 자주 등장합니다.
일반인들은 쉽게 촬영하기 어려운 구도라는 점에서 특별할 뿐만 아니라 형용할 수 없는 감동을 전해주기도 합니다.
그 이유는 다름 아닌 조양호 선대회장님의 바람이 '길'을 촬영한 사진 작품 속에 고스란히 남아있기 때문입니다. 일생동안 한계가 없는 하늘을 동경한
조양호 회장님의 바람이 대한항공이 폭 넓은 글로벌 네트워크를 구축해 대한민국의 위상을 높여온 일생의 삶의 궤적과 겹치는건 우연이 아닐 것입니다.
이번 추모 전시회를 관통하는 주제가 '길'이 된 이유이기도 합니다.
1관에서는 '길'이 내려다보이는 이미지, 항공기 동체 이미지가 포함된 작품 위주로 전시를 하고 있습니다.
2관에서는 2002년부터 2019년까지 직접 촬영하신 사진으로 제작한 캘린더 중 10개를 선별해 전시하고
있습니다. 강렬한 이미지의 풍경사진은 물론 생전에 사용하시던 카메라, 장비, 서적 등 유품도 함께 전시하고 있습니다.

“Paths” are created by footsteps of men.
“Paths” encourage and
allow for cross-civilizational exchange, and remain indispensable for cities,
nations and societies to grow and advance.
Late Chairman Cho enjoyed capturing aerial
perspectives of “paths” as he saw them.
This composition in particular, while
difficult to capture, is able to move people to emotions beyond description.
Cho’s admiration for the skies coincides
with his passion to pioneer the Korean domestic aviation industry, and his
lifelong dedication to Korean Air in making new “paths” to elevate Korea’s status
and prowess as a nation.
Hall 1 features Cho’s works of “paths”
captured from up above, and works that encompass various aircraft.
Hall 2 features __________select photos from__________ the calendars published between 2002 and 2019.
In addition to poignant images of
vistas on display, his equipment and keepsakes are also on exhibit.
